Some crazy kitties I know got into the bag of salmon treats and ate them all. I'm getting reports that they are acting fine. I would think if they were going to get sick from them, they would vomit or other. Any other thoughts when they eat that much salmon? Thank you!

They might vomit or have diarrhea from the amount of oil, but other than a tummy ache I would think they should be okay. I would give slightly smaller meals for a day or 2 & maybe add some pumpkin or probiotics to their food. Hope they are all right !

I too would think that vomiting or diarrhea would be what you'd see, if there are any adverse effects at all.  They may have indigestion, but unless they have other health conditions where vomiting would be hard on them, they will probably be fine after a day or two.

Kitties can be little stinkers, can't they?

ETA:  I would suspect that they might drink more water than usual, too.

Well, Rudi pulled the top off a container of thawing cooked pork steaks yesterday and ate about 4 of them.  He was hungry for dinner too.  He seems fine, though of course I've been nervously watching him.  I'm sure the crazy salmoned-out bunch will be OK, other than the loose stool possibility or drinking more water.

OT but I've had a similar experience.  I have to keep my fish food locked away in a place where kitties can't get at it.  Phantom once opened and ate an entire canister of fish food.  I learned my lesson.  Tongue

See, I guess thats one area I dont have to worry about Sophers, I never thought I'd be glad she refuses treats, but reading these accounts, maybe its a good thing! Sneaky kitties!  lol

Mickey, I hope your kitties will be OK, Im guessing the same as the others, maybe some tummy upset or some loose stools.  I wouldnt be surprised if they sleep more than normal afterall they have to digest all that extra food, lol Now they will be wanting a whole bag of treats, one per kitty after this!  Cheesy

Oh gosh!  I hope their tummies are all right!  Those clever little naughties!

I once imported 6 or so bags of Nature's Variety Freeze-dried raw chicken to keep on stock since the bags they come in have are special and thick so they keep a long time if they're not open.

The 4 Larges got into the stock area and didn't eat them -- they just put vampire bite holes in each and every bag.   Tongue

Mickey, I hope those rascally kitties will be OK. I think others are right and the only possible consequence would be a little tummy upset.

I taped them with duct tape but then the next day I got scared LMAO.  I think I was told they'll store for something like up to a year but when the seal on the package is broken, apparently they're best used within a month or two.

My freezer is far too tiny to store that many bags, so I ended up giving them all away to people with dogs.   Roll Eyes

That was quite an expensive coming-home present from my kitties.   Angry   Gotta love em.   Wink

ETA : I live in Japan, so I bought a lot at a time in order to save on International shipping.
