The best thing to do is to find a place to put the plants that she cannot get to them.  Maybe you can try some cat repellent sprayed on a cloth and put it around the base of the plant to discourage her from getting near.  However, unless you know for sure that the plant isn't toxic, you just have to not allow her to get to them by putting them out of reach.  There are websites that can give you a list of plants that are toxic.  Surprised that she would even try to mess with a cactus!   Wink

You could also try the other methods used to discourage other behaviour like squirting her with a squirt gun when she gets near the plants or shaking a can of coins to scare her away.

Definitely put the cactus up high.  My mom had a puppy careen into one of hers, and the puppy got an eye full of spines.  Emergency vet visit with hours long surgery to get them removed.

The only plants I have around are cat grass.

Mine stay away from the plants mostly on their own. Oreo does sleep in the pots under some of the trees though. I would put the cactus up higher or give it away, the kitten could get hurt with that 1 ! Maybe some fresh catnip or cat grass or catmint would direct her to safe plants ?

Aahhh, kittens......

Houseplants are tasty gyms and playgrounds. We gave up, and the last thing I planted was a small box of catnip seeds on the kitchen windowsill. Supposedly out of reach..ha ha.
All was fine until one counter-climber decided to wipe out the entire emerging crop by himself. He didn't even share it with the others.
Cats win. no more indoor plants.
Aahhhh, kittens...ya gotta laugh

I would get rid of the cactus.  I had a cat that ate an entire cactus long time ago, thought surprisingly there were not complications from it.  I would have thought one bite would have been enough but nope Roll Eyes

Sunday was digging like a dog and rolling around in the plant leaves and dirt like it was the most nostalgic feeling ever.   Tongue

I haven't had a houseplant in twenty years, just artificial ones inside, and the ones outside in my courtyard are screened against
cat poison plant lists. I did raise some herbs in outside plant stands kitties couldn't get to.

Oh my I can't kill a plant....I may have to move it to one of the rooms that are off limits to her....but I had lol hoped they could live in peace together..I wonder how I raised my 4 other cats  without all these issues....they never messed with my plants and left the Christmas tree alone...they would lay under it.....I do not know the name of this cactus to look it up and I had to lol at that pic August....I will be back in here but I am just lost as to why the other cats were better behaved as kittens

Mewsette in my garden window...note she is watching me cook and the house plants are out of the window..

PS. If you expand the picture you will see the squirt bottle that mostly fails to work lol..she's um difficult  and a blessing

thank you all

LOL difficult and a blessing describes all kittens  Wink

It may be that your other kittens were trained by mom and mewsette didn't have that luxury?

Aahhh kittens.....
Regarding the Christmas tree....if you have a real one make the water absolutely unreachable to cats. No matter real or artificial, cute little Mewsette just might be a tree climber. A couple of ours like to climb right up the middle of the tree -    Grin we have always had to secure ours in 2 places/ via heavy wire to either heavy furniture or the wall. And unbreakable ornaments...

HAHAHAHA oh my God now you all have me worried about Christmas. My other cats were cool about the trees.....and yes we always have a real tree...I do not allow her in certain rooms so it may be safe... but on Christmas I will let her come get her gifts....She is good when I hiss at her she will usually stop what she is doing.....though I  can't always police her......thus the plants are all in rooms she can't get to now...check list on Christmas tree....I guess as I have NO doubt she will climb it...it's that blessing and difficult thing again lol..I know she will bring much joy this Christmas and also much  hahahaha aggrevation
