Fayetteville AR 72701

Fayetteville Flyer March 9, 2010

In an effort to help Fayetteville residents sustain the health and well-being of their pets in today’s economic climate, the Fayetteville Community Services Division has established a community pet food bank program.

The food bank, called Ranger’s Pantry, is named after Ranger, the division’s mascot.

Residents are asked to donate any size or brand of dog/puppy or cat/kitten food to any of the established drop off locations around town. Locations include any city fire station and the Community Services office located at 125 W. Mountain.

Suggest calling the city to ask how one qualifies for this assistance if you need help.

KFSM-March 12, 2010

"In order to participate in the program you have to register and meet the proper criteria, which the city is still in the process of determining. The Fayetteville Pet Food Bank officially kicks off May 1.

"The city is accepting donations. They can be dropped off at any Fayetteville fire station."

Pet Food Bank Now Open

"Named after the city’s Community Services mascot, Ranger, the program has already seen success in both donations of food and money, and eight people have already coming forward seeking help to feed their pets.

"Anyone wishing to offer pet food or money to Ranger’s Pantry can make a donation at any Fayetteville fire station or at the Community Services Division at 125 West Mountain St.

"If you work at a local business that sells pet food, consider talking to your store manager to see if they’ll allow Ranger’s Pantry to set up outside one afternoon. If they’re cool with it, give Yolanda a call at 575-8260.

"If you or someone you know is struggling to make ends meet and is having trouble affording pet food, call the Community Services Division at 479-575-8260. Three-month food vouchers are available and can be used all at once or only as needed for a 12-month period."
