Alaska-Fairbanks-North Star Borough-

FNSB Animal Control
809 Pioneer Road.

Animal Control Meeting March 9, 2009

Pages 4-6

Discusses the fact that Animal Control began a Pet Food Pantry to assist those in need in 2006.  The program has grown and the issue is how to properly screen recipients so that the truly in need receive the assistance and not those first in line when the food is distributed.

The Salvation Army of Fairbanks and Love, Inc. indicated willingness to screen applicants for assistance to determine true need.  The outcome of the discussion was agreement that those applying to receive food should be screened by outside social service agencies.

Contact Animal Control if you are in this area and in need of help for more information as to how to apply.
